Jimmy Buffett Island

I am the person I never thought I'd be. I despised the giant contraptions and was of the mindset that kids don't need all that to learn.

I still believe that but now I know that Jimmy Buffett islands aren't for the kids, they're for the parents. Sweet bliss of long-time complete child enrapturement. Cooking, check. Catching up on past due chores, check.

They are ginormous and unnecessary but I am a convert. An embarrassed convert but a convert nonetheless. How could I not be seeing how much she loves it while I get a 20 minute break.

Katie's first flowers

The crocuses and daffodils are up here. My folks are still buried in 10 ft of snow so I took these to cheer my mom up a bit.

She's a pretty happy baby. She smiles a lot, isn't very fussy and likes seeing new things. She also slept all night last night which makes me very thankful. 4:30 am wakeups stink.

We are scraping the house this weekend to prep it for painting. Yuck.

Growing girl

Katie was four months on the 9th. Took her for her 4 month visit today and she was 16 lbs and 26 inches (90th and 95th percentile, respectively).

She easily rolls to her side but not over yet. She has no problem with head control and she can lay on her belly for a while without crying. There is a lot of drool though. She still loves lights and watching people. She can easily track us around the room and can pick us out of a small crowd by smiling super big. No laughs yet but I hear they're coming soon.

Golf and bags

We played golf for the first time in a while this weekend. Katie came too, decked out in the stroller/golf bag combo

We have a standing rule in the house that if I get a hole in one, I get chickens. I almost gave ken a heart attack this weekend

It landed two feet from the hole.

Superbowl Sunday morning was spent cooking. Here's Katie entertaining herself with a paper bag. She is 4 months today.
